Brooklyn Tornado

Last week, two tornadoes touched down in New York, one in Brooklyn and other in Staten Island. They came in with winds of 70-100 mph and flooded the streets in few minutes. They left New York with uprooted trees, property damage, crushed cars, injured people and horrible traffic jams.
We were in Brooklyn when the tornado hit. It almost felt like being in a Hollywood set. The skies darkened, thunder and lightning followed by strong winds and heavy downpour which lasted less than 5 mins. Lucky to be alive and safe. Here are photos of the aftermath.

Just curious.. How did you not know about this tornado? Were you indoors? I mean, it is hard to miss all the chaos around you when you are sauntering down the street 😀

It wasnt like the sinister tornado with huge funneling clouds they show in movies, though the other effects looked similar. It came down with heavy downpour and strong winds and we took shelter for the 5 mins it pounded the city. There werent many trees near where we were, but later when driving back, we saw the trail of havoc left by the tornado. Warnings were on the news, but we missed them because we were out the whole day.
